EISENSTAT, Shirley (née Benjamin). Surrounded by her loving family at Hillel Lodge, Ottawa, on Thursday, February 28, 2013. Devoted wife of the late Irving. Loving and devoted mother and mother-in-law of Michael and Deborah, Deborah and Howard Krebs. Cherished Bubbie of Stefanie and Jeff, Liane and Ian, Adam, Geoffrey and Mandy; Jonathan and Meital, Avi, and Naomi. Proud great-grandmother of Rhys, and Emily. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Alta and the late Laurie Mushkat, Helen and the late Gordy Froman, Delphine and the late Sonny Benjamin. Shirley will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, family, and all those whose lives she touched. The family would like to thank the staff of 3 West at Hillel Lodge, Ottawa, for their exceptional care and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Monday, March 4 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Shaare Zedek Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Devoted father and father-in-law of Lori Sterling and Keith MacKinnon, Vicki and Allan Kaufman, Karen Sterling, Andrea Sterling, Dyan Sterling and Duncan Nealy. Proud and loving grandpa of Daniel, Nathalie and Hailey; Harris and Elliot; Morgan; Alec and Olivia. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Joyce and Leo Rothman, Howard and Sandra Sterling, and brother-in-law of Anita and the late Rocky Dorfman, Eleanor and Bernie Weisholtz. Sadly mourned by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Loving and adored mother and mother-in-law of Josi and Richard Rapoport, Heidi Bell, Cheri and Jeff Wise. Cherished Nanny of Samantha and Carley Rapoport; Alexandra Oppen; Gregory and Lucas Wise. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Lili and the late Mort Sadegursky, Francie Douglas, Lyn Ziss and Ellery Soifer and the late Joel Ziss, the late Lottie and the late Harry Cohn, the late Bernard (Tudy) and the late Shirley Solomon, the late Sonny Solomon, and sister-in-law of Issie and the late Soryle Bell, Roslyn and the late Howard Klein, the late Florence and the late Issie Flinker. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, family and friends. On Thursday, February 7, 2013, after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Beloved husband of the late Goldie Wolofsky. Loving father and father-in-law of Albert and Linda, Sheila and Joseph Graham, Michael and Gina. Adored grandfather of Jonah and Tracy, David, Alexandra, Paula, and Julie. Treasured great-grandfather of Jacob and Addison. Predeceased by his parents, Albert and Rachel Eskenazi. Brother and brother-in-law of Suzie and the late Maurice Kanza, the late Nina and the late Mario Modiano, Rosie and Benjamin Mizrahi, and brother-in-law of Jack and Kay Wolofsky, Judah and the late Sandi Wolofsky. Cherished uncle and great-uncle to his nieces and nephews and their families in Istanbul, Paris and Detroit. Sincere thanks to Jackie, Maxine, Mehri and all the staff at The Vivalis, for all their care and attention. SCHNEIDERMAN, Bella (nee Cohen). March 15 1919 – February 17, 2013. Peacefully, in Toronto, at Kensington Gardens Long Term Health Facility. Wife of the late Ben Schneiderman. Beloved mother of Perry. Loving grandmother of Zoe. Predeceased by her sisters, Rose Malamed and Beatrice Lazarus. Cherished aunt of Marvin and Mimi Malamed, Ruth and Nathan Mandelzys, Ian Lazarus and Veronica Feihl, Mark and Naomi Schneiderman, Karen and Leslie Lukacs and the late Edith and Jack Bluestein. Special thanks to Daniele and Guenette of Kensington who were her guardian angels in the final years. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, February 19 at 10 a.m. Burial at the Young Israel of Montreal Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva private.
