STERN, Phyllis (née Kahne). Peacefully, with dignity and courage, surrounded by her adoring family, on Sunday, June 10, 2012. Wife, soulmate and best friend of Bernie for forty-eight years. Cherished and loving mother of Lara (Don), Meira (Mike), and Michael (Marcie). Adored and doting Gramma of Ella, Molly, Justin, Ezra, Owen, and Sayde. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Beverly (Fernando), Gary, and Evie (Joe). Devoted aunt of Michael, Stuart, Robert, Lisa, Julie, and Eli. Best friend to so many. We have learned so much from her wisdom. Her courage, selflessness, and acceptance, especially over the past four years, inspired us all. She maintained her strength, independence, and sense of humour throughout. Her beauty, love, and sense of calm will always be with us. Sister-in-law of Hy and the late Iona Waxman, the late Bella and the late Nat Singer, the late Molly and the late Lou Adams, Marilyn and the late Abe Waxman, Margie and the late Morris Waxman. DEITCHER (LEVY), Nita (née Lubelsky). It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Nita Deitcher on Monday July 2, 2012. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Nathan (Nate). Predeceased by her dear sister Trudi Zeligman. Nita will be deeply missed by her children Margot Simpson, and Michael Levy (Gloria), as well as by her grandchildren Jessica (Shaun), Dylan, Jake, and Samantha. Nita was a wonderful, caring, generous and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was also a dedicated animal lover who never went out the door without dog biscuits in her pocket.
