Iva Miller
At South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Saturday, August 3, 2002, Iva M. (Elliott) Miller of Exeter and formerly of Grand Band and Mitchell in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Roy Miller (1975). Dear mother of Jack and Jane Miller of Woodstock. Dear grand- mother of Mike and Susan Miller of Oakville and Leanne Miller and John Hartog of Pickering and great-grandmother of Natalie and Nicole. After farming near Mitchell, Iva and her husband Roy moved to Grand Bend and operated the Oakland House for many years. Friends were received at the Hopper Hockey Funeral Home, 370 William Street, one west of Main, Exeter, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 6 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Harry Disher officiating. Interment Staffa Cemetery. Donations to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family. Jim McLeod
Mr. James (Jim) McLeod, in his 84th year, of RR 2 Tavistock, passed away suddenly at his residence on Sunday, February 23, 2003. He was born in South Easthope Township, February 24, 1919, son of the late Alfred and Priscilla (Otto) McLeod and had lived there all his life. Jim farmed on the home farm until 1966. Following that he worked with his brother at Don McLeod Cabinets and Carpentry. He was a member of Parkview United Church. Jim is survived by his only brother Donald McLeod and his wife Dolores, RR 2 Tavistock, two nephews Michael McLeod and wife Michelle, RR 2 Tavistock, David McLeod and wife Terri, Stratford, one niece Candice Palmer and husband Jeff, Stratford. Also surviving are six grand nieces and three grand nephews. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, February 26 from 6-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. Rev. Cheryl-Ann Stadelbauer-Sampa will officiate. Interment will follow in Avondale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Stratford General Hospital Foundation through the funeral home. W.G. At Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Monday, June 18, 2001, James C. (Jim) Jenkins of Glencoe in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Joanne (nee Stewart) Jenkins. Dear father of David and Sharon Jenkins of Oakville, Barbara Jenkins and Kevin Wannamaker, Ken and Carmen Jenkins all of Stratford, Jill Kimmel and Dennis McKeown of London and Chris and Lisa Sturdy of Durham, N.C. Loving grandfather of Matthew, Maya, Jody, Jake, Jordan, Mikayla, Logan, Mackenzie and Meghan. Dear brother of Marion and Don Ellis of Simcoe and Jack and Mary Jenkins of Niagara Falls. Dear son-in-law of Elsie Stewart of Glencoe and the late Hugh Stewart. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Harriet Jenkins and two brothers Allan (Bud) and Bill Jenkins. Peacefully at Sprucedale Care Centre in Strathroy on Sunday, February 10, Cor P. Wester, in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Marie Anna (nee Riuter). Loving father of Wilma (Tony) Verdaasdonk of Holland, Marie (Age) Hui- tema of Mitchell, Nellie (John) Willems of Komo- ka, Peter (Merry) Wester of London, Maggle (Jack) Sanders of Fergus, John Wester of London, Cathy (Jim) Taylor of Strathroy, Annie (Bryan) Watson of Strathroy and Cor and his friend Cathie of Delaware. Pearl Scott
Mrs. Pearl Scott, age 93, a resident of People Care, Stratford and formerly of 45 Buckingham Drive, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, April 8, 2002. She was born in Stratford, February 12, 1909. She is survived by her three children Francis Scott and friend Marj of Stratford, Allan Scott and wife Joyce of Mitchell and Cheryl and husband Eric Bellan of Chatham. Dear grandmother of 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Mrs. Alice Carter of Stratford, a special nice Joyce Tribner and hsuband Bob, and two nephews Wayne Scott and Bill Scott. She was predeceased parents William and Alice (Gamble) Scott, by her brother Clarence Scott, sisters Lillian Ella and Josie and husband Ken Standen and by a niece Valerie Grieve. Muriel May (Dale) Roe
Peacefully, at Norview Lodge, Simcoe on Monday, June 10, 2002 in her 81st year. Wife of the late George A. Roe. Beloved mother of Charles Roe and his wife Theresa of Calgary, Alberta, David Roe and his wife Rita of Delhi, Robert Roe and his wife Heather of Burlington. Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren, Catherine, Christopher, Sean, Sara, Dianne, Pennie, Marcie, Samantha, Alexandra, Kate as well as eight great-grandchildren. Will be sadly missed by her brother-in-law Charles Roe of Stratford, Aunt Mabel Rasey of Stratford and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Frederick Dale (1983) and Mary Alman (1987) and her brother William Dale (2000). Mrs. Roe was a resident of Norview Lodge in Simcoe for many years and formerly resided in Delhi. She was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Simcoe, and a former member and organist of St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Delhi. A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Roe’s life will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, Colborne Street, South, Simcoe on Saturday, June 15, 2002 at 2 p.m. Rev. Gordon Moir officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Milverton will be held at a later date. Isabel Kipfer
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at Grand River Hospital, K-W Health Centre, Kitchener. Isabel resided in Waterloo and was formerly of Milverton. She was born 75 years ago in North Easthope Township and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Busch) Sloat. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Milverton and was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #565 Milverton Ladies Auxiliary where she was the recording secretary for many years. Beloved wife of Clarence Kipfer whom she married November 15, 1947. Dear mother of Marilyn (Marli) and Jim Engeland of Stratford, Kate and Garry Skelding of Listowel and Joyce and Richard Sloat of RR 1 Alma. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Jenna and Danny Sardella, Jaime and Matt Neeb, Jaclyn Engeland, Matt and Jackie Bartmann, Kari Bartmann, Kali Sloat and Symon Sloat and greatgranddaughters Samantha and Natalee Sardella. Mr. Ralph Eugene Schmidt, 72, of Milverton and formerly of Stratford and Miller Lake passed away suddenly on Monday, February 24, 2003. Beloved husband for 54 years of Mary (Noble). Loving son of Hubert Schmidt, Thorndale and the late Genevieve (Miller) Schmidt. Loving father of Genny and husband Bob Phillips, Stratford, Jacque and husband Dan Briand, St. Thomas, David Schmidt, Stratford, Peter Schmidt, Milverton, Paula and husband Todd Marriott, Lucknow, Heather Brown and special friend John Edwards, Woodstock, Mary Jane Anderson, Lucknow. Loving grand- father of 17 grandchildren and two great-grand- children. Dear brother of Marilyn Fowler and husband Jim, Washago and Carol and husband Paul Taylor, Bradford. Donald Steinburg
Donald Steinburg, age 70 years, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at the Stratford General Hospital. He was born in Stratford son of the late Herbert and Elsie Steinburg and had lived most of his life in Stratford. He was a machinist and had been employed at the CNR Shops and later at Dominion Chain retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. James Anglican Church and a member of the Municipal Golf Club being an avid golfer. He is survived by his beloved wife, the former Doris Ann Turner, whom he married November 15, 1952 in Stratford. Loving father of Debbie Scott and husband Bob of Sebringville, Doug Steinburg and wife Julie Misener, Tillsonburg. Dear grandpa of Scott Pritchard and wife Leanne, Mark Pritchard and fiancée Sarah, Nicholas and Justin Steinburg, Michelle Gareau. Great-grandpa of Bailey and Emma. Also surviving is his brother Rev. Howard Steinburg and wife Margaret and his daughter Karen, Chatham, brother-in-law Ron Turner, Oshawa and several nieces and nephews and their families. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers Kemp and Bill Steinburg and his sister Thelma Steinburg. There will be no funeral home visitation but a funeral service will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, July 3, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. Archdeacon John Spencer will officiate. Interment will be in Avondale Cemetery.
