Clarence Osmond

OSMOND, Clarence - 79, Bedford, passed away April 4, 2003, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Chelsea, Mass., he was a son of the late Norman and Marion (Taylor) Osmond.

He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas in the R.C.A.F. He was employed with the Department of National Defence at the Ammunition Depot in Bedford until his retirement in 1978. Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at his camp on Lake Charlotte.

He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Dalrymple; daughters, Donna Osmond (Donald Babcock), Bedford; Marlene Osmond, Bedford; sons, David (Brenda), Phinney Cove; Darrell, Bedford; sister, Marion Snow, Bedford; brothers, William, Bedford; Aubrey, Vancouver, B.C.; grandchildren, Kyle, Jason, Jennifer, and David; great-grandchild, Ethan.

He was predeceased by sister, Florence Noble; brother, Richard; grandchild, Brian.

Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, Rev. Patricia Malin officiating. Burial will take place in Oakridge Memory Gardens. Reception to follow in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

Alice Livingstone Dwinell

DWINELL, Alice Livingstone - 82, Halifax, formerly of Lakeview, passed away April 6, 2003, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Tatamagouche, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Elsie (McNutt) Langille.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.

Surviving are daughter, Shirley Wicks, Ottawa and her children Jeffrey, Vancouver, and Jennifer, Montreal; son, Raymond (Joanne Kelly), Lakeview and their children Reeann, Deanne and Breann, at home; brother, Fred Langille, Oshawa, Ont.; sisters, Betty Vause, Swift Current, Sask.; Sylvia Ross, Tatamagouche; Carrie Dalzel, Moncton.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Arthur Dwinell; brother, Arthur Langille.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. Waldo Grandy officiating. Burial to follow in Fairview Lawn Cemetery.

Donations may be made to a charity of choice.

Marie Alice Jordan

JORDAN, Marie Alice - 93, Lower Sackville, formerly of Hammonds Plains, passed away suddenly on April 4, 2003, at home. Born in Brampton, Ont., she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Ann (Leach) Turner.

She was a member of Stairs Memorial United Church, Dartmouth and a long-time member of Hon. Joseph Howe Chapter 20, Order of Eastern Star, Dartmouth. She was a life member of the Hammonds Plains Baptist Women's Missionary Society and United Church Women. She enjoyed corresponding with her many friends through letters and cards.

She is survived by cousins, Christine Rickaby, Richmond Hill, Ont.; Margaret Lawrence, Guelph, Ont.; Sandra and Brenda MacIntosh, Scarborough, Ont.; caregiver and friend, Evelyn Perry, Lower Sackville.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred "Joe".

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with Hon. Joseph Howe Chapter 20 O.E.S. to hold a service at 7 p.m. Sunday, and funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, all in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville, Rev. William Woodworth officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge Memory Gardens. Reception to follow in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1839 Hammonds Plains Rd. or St. Nicholas Anglican Church, 1608 Hammonds Plains Rd.

Robert George "Bob" Lamb

LAMB, Robert George "Bob" - 66, Dartmouth, passed away in Dartmouth General Hospital, after a brief illness. Born August 16, 1936, in Montreal, Que, he was a son of the late George and Margaret (Campbell) Lamb.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Shaw) Lamb, Dartmouth; daughter, Sharon, Dartmouth; sons, Stephen, Sackville; Brian, Kentville; grandchildren, Christopher, Kyle, Kelsey and Erin; sister, Donna, and nephew, Brock, both of Montreal.

Bob was a submariner with the Canadian Armed Forces for 10 years, and a retired Dartmouth Police Officer after 30 years of service. Bob was an avid sports fan involved with coaching of minor sports for many years. His support and enthusiasm will be greatly missed in the rinks and ball parks and in the local communities. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, Rev. P. A. Sandy McDonald officiating. Interment will be in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. A reception to follow in the funeral home.

Family flowers only. Donations to a charity of your choice.

James Richard Romkey

ROMKEY, James Richard - 53, Lawrencetown Road, passed away peacefully April 2, 2003, at home with his loving wife and family members at his side. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Earl and Arelia (Hanson) Romkey.

Jim worked for 26 years as a civilian for DND at several locations in Halifax and Dartmouth. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed the outdoors, and working in his greenhouse.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Laura (Fraser); son, Arthur. He is also survived by sisters, Kathleen Trudel, Lillian Vincent and Shirley Baker; brothers, Donald, Eric and Gary; several nieces and nephews, special nieces, Hali Rossiter, Debbie and Tracey Baker. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 4, in the chapel of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Burial will be in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, Rev. James Haughn officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

Daniel B. McAloney

McALONEY, Daniel B. - 51, Halifax, died April 1, 2003, at home. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Daniel and Audrey (Hunter) (Gillis) McAloney.

Surviving are sisters, Bonnie McAloney, Halifax; Vicki (Mike) Shipley, Amherst; Barbara McAloney, Halifax; brother, Terry, Halifax; brother-in-law, Robert Baker.

He was predeceased by sister, Linda Baker.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax.
