HERRON -- Mr. Garnet James Herron, of Calgary, passed away suddenly at his residence on Tuesday, December 9, 1997, at the age of 61 years. Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Chapel of the Bells", (2720 Centre Street North), on Monday, December 15, 1997, at 3:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of their choice. HOTCHEN -- Robert Leslie, born June 13, 1929 in Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away suddenly in Calgary December 11, 1997. Robert will be forever remembered by his loving wife Elva, five daughters, six grandchildren and one brother. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home, Tuesday December 16, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. Highway 1A (17 Avenue S.E.) and Garden Road. Phone: 403-272-5555.

JONES -- Mrs. Olga (Ollie) Antonia Jones, beloved wife of Mr. Clarence Jones of Calgary, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the Agape Manor Hospice on Wednesday, December 10, 1997 after a short but courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 77 years. Ollie was born January 16, 1920 in Brandon, Manitoba. Ollie and Clarence were married in June of 1948, and moved to Calgary in 1949. She worked in the insurance industry for several years, and was the secretary for the Insurance Institute of Alberta. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and always put her family first. She took great pride in her home and garden which she meticulously maintained. Ollie was an active member of St. Bernard's Parish and the Catholic Women's League for many years. Besides her loving husband Clarence, Ollie is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Bill Lambe of Calgary; and a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Susan Jones of Kanata, Ontario. She was the loving Nana of five grandsons, Robert and Jeffrey Lambe, and Ryan, David and Kyle Jones. She is also survived by a sister Jennie Hrushowy of Courtenay, B.C.; and a brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Jean Teresko of Toronto, Ontario. Ollie was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Mary Teresko, and a sister Helen Antonation. As well as her relatives and friends, Ollie will be missed by her bridge club of which she was a member for over twenty-five years. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Chapel of the Bells" (2720 Centre Street North) today, December 14, 1997, at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard's Catholic Church (711 - 37 Street N.W.) on Monday, December 15, 1997, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. L. Michael Storey, Celebrant. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. KENNEY -- Margaret Ellen Kenney (nee Penney), February 21, 1935 - December 11, 1997. After courageously living with the debilitating effects of ALS for over a year, Margaret died peacefully in her home at the age of 62. Margaret will be greatly missed by Bill, her loving and devoted husband of thirty-six years; her children, Tim, MaryAnn and Maureen; and her granddaughter Jordanna Lang. She will also be greatly missed by her sister Isabel Gorrie (Alec) of Grande Prairie; and her brother Doug Penney (Claire) of Edmonton; as well as her many friends and relatives. Margaret was born in Grande Prairie to her parents, Ronald and Jean Penney and grew up on a farm in the vicinity of Wembly, Alberta. She graduated in 1957 as an R.N. with a specialty in psychiatric nursing from the Alberta Hospital, Ponoka and the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton. She practiced nursing in Grande Prairie, Peace River, Drumheller and Stettler, between 1957 and 1961, and at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary between 1982 and 1995. Margaret lived for her family and friends, who will forever cherish memories of her gentle kindness and generosity. A Memorial Service will be held for her at St. David's United Church, 3303 Capitol Hill Crescent N.W., Calgary, with Rev. John Griffith officiating, on Tuesday, December 16 at 3:00 p.m., with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers a memorial tribute may be made in Margaret's memory to the ALS Society of Alberta, Suite 400, 320 - 23 Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB T2S 0J2. There is no death, only a change of worlds. LARMOUR -- Ida, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on Friday, December 12, 1997. Ida was predeceased by her loving husband Allan in 1991, after sixty-one years of marriage, and her son-in-law John Stein in March 1997. Ida was born in Jasmin, Saskatchewan and raised in East End Saskatchewan. She attended Business College in Regina and was employed by the Royal Bank of Canada and also worked for a lawyer in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, where her daughter Betty was born. Ida and Allan moved to Calgary in 1971. Ida spent a great deal of her life doing things for others. She received a Certificate of Appreciation for Volunteer Work from the Foothills Hospital for knitting bonnets for premature babies and finger puppets for children receiving blood tests. Ida helped with teas and entertainment at Glamorgan Nursing Home, bingo at Sarcee Nursing Home and also volunteered with the Blood Donor Clinic. She was a Life Member of the Regina Chapter No. 7 Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a charter member of United Church Women's Group in Regina and the Lakeview United Church in Calgary. Ida worked for shut-ins, and provided hospital visiting, letter writing and mailed out Christmas cards at Geriatric Hospitals. Ida is survived by her loving daughter Betty Stein; grandchildren, Barbara Stein and friend Byron Sluggett, Bill Stein and wife Karen, Patti Restoule and husband Joseph, Paul Stein and wife Myra, Mark Stein; and six great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jody and Mark Stein, Sarah and Matthew Restoule, and Melissa Stein. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty and Marjorie; and brothers, George and Philip. It was Ida's wish that her body be donated to Medical Research at the University of Calgary. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at the Lakeview United Church, 3023 - 63 Avenue S.W. on Monday, December 15, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Tom Melvin presiding. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Lakeview United Church at the above address, or to the charity of your choice.

MAULSBY -- Joan Carol Maulsby (nee McMullen) passed away peacefully on December 10, 1997 at the Rockyview Hospital at the age of 64 years. Joan will be sadly missed by her son David Maulsby; daughter Cheri Maas and son-in-law Richard; two grandchildren, Paul and Christine, all of Calgary. She is also survived by her cousins, Kerry Rankin and Tara McDowell and their families; as well as her devoted friend Barbara Kouwenberg. Joan was predeceased by her mother Kit McMullen in 1985. She will be best remembered for her patience, caring and the endless courage she possessed in the face of a life challenged by much illness and many hardships. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and it was from this love that she drew her strength. Joan's compassion for others extended into her nursing career. Trained at the Holy Cross Hospital, she graduated in 1955 and received the Gold Medal for Proficiency. She quickly advanced to the position of Head Nurse on Pediatrics and it was at this time of her life that she was the happiest. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 - 14 Street S.W.), on Wednesday, December 17, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jesus Ronillo Timajo, Celebrant. In living memory of Joan Maulsby, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, "Fish Creek Chapel", 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E., CALGARY. MONSEES -- Mrs. Audrey Monsees, (nee Glauser) of Calgary, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, December 11, 1997, at the age of 83 years. Audrey will always be remembered by her family and friends for her sense of humor. Audrey is survived by a daughter Eileen and her husband Denis Turgeon; and two sons, Ben and his wife Connie Monsees, all of Calgary, and Cy and his wife Ruth Monsees of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; four grandchildren, Cory, Mark, Shauna, and MacKenzie; and a great-grandson Justin (J.R.). She is also survived by two sisters, Toni Griffiths of Smithers, B.C., and Eileen and her husband Jim Harris of Lake Isabella, California; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Audrey was predeceased by her husband Ora, and her brothers, Cyril, Elden, Gerald and Harold. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Crowfoot Chapel", (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Monday, December 15, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Linda Benson of Northminster United Church officiating. Interment to follow at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. MOWAT -- It is with great sadness the family of Hildegarde Frances Mowat (nee Stang) would like to inform friends of her passing on Friday, December 12, 1997, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Hilda died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Hilda was born on March 8, 1930 in Macklin, Saskatchewan, the third child of Peter and Elizabeth Stang. She leaves behind her loving husband George; children, Dianne (Danny), Betty (Al Lamy), Shirley (Jerry), Bill, Jean (Terry), Lorrie (Brian); and stepchildren, Georgia and Greg (Sandra). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Kerry (Todd), Donna, Jennifer (Jim), Ben, Penny, Andrea, Bobby, Darren, Caroline, Steven, Patrick and Robert; and great-grandchildren, Cody and Jessie. Hilda also leaves behind her sisters, Molly (Gordon), Maryan (Paul), Leona (Mel), Judy (Bruce), Willy (Dave), Louise (Mike), Lorraine (Joe), Sharon (Bob), Betty (Al); and brothers, Bert (Rose), Ron (Lorraine), Ed (Louise), Elmer (Carol), Joe (Norma); and numerous nieces and nephews. Hilda was predeceased by her mother and father, a son Robert in 1961, a brother Richard in 1968, and a stepson Ken in 1992. Hilda spent many years as a volunteer for the Interfaith Thrift Store and cherished her many friendships she made there. She enjoyed the time spent at her cabin at Mara Lake, the many hours of fishing and evenings of card games with her longtime friend and sister-in-law Ruth. She loved to spend time working beside George on their many projects. She especially looked forward to her yearly family reunion and the music and fun her family shared. Hilda also took pleasure in the simple things such as sewing for her grandchildren and taking them on outings. She will always be remembered for her unfailing generosity that extended well beyond the boundaries of her family and friends, and for her courage and strength of spirit during her illness. Services will be held at LEYDEN'S "Chapel of Remembrance" (17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.) on Wednesday, December 17, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial tributes in Hilda's name may be made to Breast Cancer Research (Tom Baker Centre) (1331 - 29 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 4N2). NEILSON -- Antonia (Toni) Neilson (nee Kohout) of Brentwood Care Centre, passed away on December 12, 1997 in her 90th year. Antonia will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Karen (Fred) Gould of Nanton; her sons, Don (Isabel), Gerald, and Paul (Dolores); as well as her sister Anne Topak, all of Calgary. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren, Scott (Margo) Neilson of Vancouver, Valerie (Craig) Coulombe of Calgary, Shawna and Sharon Gould of Nanton, Robert, Eric, Kevin and Lesley Neilson of Calgary; and her nieces, nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Anton and Barbara Kohout and by her sisters, Mary Tupkal, Helen Mayer and Mildred Laidlaw. Antonia was born on October 13, 1908 in Michel B.C. and moved from the Crowsnest Pass to Calgary in 1928 to train at the Maxine Beauty School. She worked for the Hudson Bay and Eatons beauty salons in Calgary before retiring in 1974. Toni was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and enjoyed the many friendships she made through various groups including Time Out, Grace Bethany Group, the Mary Marthas, the choir, bible classes and the Westside Seniors. A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church, 1009 - 15 Avenue S.W. on Wednesday, December 17, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 114, 1212 - 1 Street S.E., Calgary T2G 0G8 or to Grace Presbyterian Church. Antonia's family would like to thank Dr. Nichol, the nurses and staff of the Brentwood Care Centre for their kindness and care during the last two years. RAZOKY -- Younis passed away suddenly in Baghdad, Iraq, at the age of 69 years. He is survived by his wife, six sons and one daughter, three in Calgary (Manhiel, Moual, Maher); and by three brothers and five sisters, two in Calgary (Aziz, Sabah). Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 541 Silvergrove Drive N.W., at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 1997.
